Which spinning workshop should I take?

Where do I start?
The suggested order for ease of learning is;

  1. Intro to Spinning 1 – on a spindle
  2. Intro to Spinning 2 – on a wheel
  3. Intro to Spinning 3 – Gaining Control
  4. Plying

Learning to Spin on a Spindle Wheel has no prerequisite and can be taken without other spinning courses.

I used to Spin but want a quick review?
If you have spun before but want a workshop to get you back up to speed try Gaining Control.

I am comfortable spinning on a drop spindle or wheel and want try new things:
For those who are now beyond a beginner and want courses to further your spinning knowledge we would suggest the following… (not available on the calendar every year but can be added if requested.)

  • Intermediate spindle – if you don’t feel quite ready to try the
    wheel or want to advance your spindle spinning
  • Fibre Preparation – useful whether you intend to work with raw fibre
    or not.
  • Art Yarns –  Prerequisite: must be able to spin fine yarns
  • Big and Lofty Spinning Prerequisite: able to spin and ply a
    balanced yarn on a spinning wheel
