The first and last class dates will run 10:00 – 1:00pm.  The February dates will run 10:00-4:00pm.

NB:  Registration for members opens Friday, Nov 3, for non-members Saturday Nov 4 at 12:00pm.

Description: You have taken Weaving 1 (formerly Intro to Weaving – Table Loom) but would like support for your first project. Projects will be completed either on a table loom (which can be taken home if a deposit cheque is provided) or one of the floor looms in the Studio.  The Studio can be accessed between class dates to work on projects.

Day 1:  under the supervision of the instructor, pick a project to be made on either a table loom or floor loom that is appropriate for your skill level, learn how to consult yarn sample cards in order to select the proper yarn and calculate the amount required.  The instructor will facilitate a group yarn order. Day 2: you will wind and dress the loom in class and begin weaving. Day 3: you will spend the day weaving under the supervision of the instructor. You will then complete your project at home or in the Studio (instructor support will be available via email). Day 4: you will return to class to remove your weaving from the loom and discuss finishing and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite: Weaving 1 or equivalent.

Students should bring: Notebook, large scale graph paper, pencil, eraser, and ruler. Deposit cheque payable to OVWSG of $500 if a table loom is being taken home (will not be cashed if loom returned on time in good order).

Materials fee: will depend on the chosen project.
