Description: Try out various forms of lustrous Silk for spinning from cocoons, noils, hankies/caps, rovings and combed tops. Learn preparation techniques and explore the properties of silk alone and in blends with other fibres to create luxurious yarns.

Prerequisite: Spinning 2 or 3 or equivalent, able to comfortably spin a continuous yarn on a wheel.

Students should bring: Students should bring: A well-tuned spinning wheel if you have one, any fibre preparation tools that you may have (such as hand carders, a dog comb, a flick carder, etc) and solid shoes (no sandals).
